Party at Kitty and Stud's with Sylvester Stallone

This pornographic film was notable largely for the early presence of then-struggling New York actor Sylvester Stallone in a lead role. Stallone stars as Stud, a well-muscled resident of an apartment to which he brings a variety of women for various sexual acts. So oversexed is Stud that after he continually spies a woman flashing him from across the street, he smashes the window of his apartment. All of this occurs during a party and orgy featuring lots of skin, sex, and marijuana smoking, which has been thrown by Stud's roommate Kitty (Henriette Holm), who is in love with her macho pal. The work of writer and director Morton M. Lewis, the film exists in several differently edited forms, each featuring more or less explicit material depending on the venue in which the film is appearing. Its title, a reference to the nickname of Stallone's far better known character in Rocky (1976), was changed for the film's embarrassing re-issue after the actor became famous. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Originally released as hardcore pornography, scenes of sexual penetration were edited out on later releases of the film designed to cash in on Stallone's fame. These releases were re-packaged under the names of Italian Stallion (taken from Stallone's nickname and a line from the film) and Cocky (a spoof of Rocky).




All right, this is an historical curiosity because it's Sylvester Stallone's first film. Aside from that, it's a Z-grade porn film celebrating misogyny, drug abuse and, of course, promiscuity. If one had to categorize the "plot", it's a character study of Kitty and Stud's relationship to each other. The director tries to elevate the film to art-house level by inserting overlong montages of Stallone's treks through Manhattan and flashes of a very warm-blooded woman wearing boots, a fur coat and a smile in a snow-covered city park. We watched most of the film on scan...and yes, there are multiple shots of Stallone's genitalia, which have proven to be the only lasting allure this film can boast.
